Every cloud………..?

25th April 1983. No, that’s obviously not today’s date, but for me it was a very important day. It’s the day that I married Daphne! What a very special, enlightening, illuminating, and definitive day it was too……for Daphne!! For me it meant that I was no longer in charge of my own washing, cooking, drinking, holidays and bank account. With what result? Cleaner and better pressed clothes, wonderful meals, wine on the table, whisky in the glass, overseas holidays, and for the first time in my life, a well managed bank account. Oh yes and a beautiful wife to love and cherish. So believe me when I say ‘every cloud has a silver lining’
A very happy Silver Wedding Anniversary Daf, and thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Instant coffee

This has got to be the coldest April since the last Ice Age! What could be better than a nice cup of instant coffee to warm you up? Anything else at all! Instant coffee in this country has no more resemblance to coffee than a cup of Bovril. In Spain, Portugal, Greece, and elsewhere in Europe, order a cup of Nescafe and you get a cup of coffee! (and a glass of water) So why not here, are our taste buds so unsophisticated that we don’t know the difference? Give us a break give us a KitKat.

Mind you you will get a good cup of coffee in the cafe in Little Haven, but it won’t be instant!!!!!!

Back home.

I love Pembrokeshire, especially Talbenny/Little Haven, and even more especially out of season.  Well we have just returned from totally out of season Lesbos! This is Greece personified; no tourists (except us) wonderful people (including us) everybody so relaxed (including us) fabulous food (just for us?) Trust me it was the best holiday Daphne and I have ever had and with the best family anybody could wish for.

If you can’t make Lesbos, come and see us in or out of season; not too busy, lovely people, very relaxing, and good food available in the village.
