Is it Spring?
Another lovely sunny Pembrokeshire day, Daf’s are out, I told her to put them back as it’s not warm enough yet!
Retirement?
65 years old just before last but one Christmas (see previous references!) So now’s the time to get serious about this retirement lark and start doing all those things you’ve been promising yourself Rod; arty farty painting, chewing the fat on the sea wall with the other old farts, bit of light gardening, and that afternoon siesta in front of the fire. Wrong! Sunday, well get over Saturday night! but then Monday and it’s: ‘Bin men are here at 9 o’clock make sure the cottage bins are checked’ ‘Tree cottage door is stuck, deal with it’ ’There’s a leak in our shower room’ and so on. Tuesday and it’s ‘Well you could help with the housework’ Wednesday; ‘What are you preparing for supper tonight, not lobster risotto again’ Thursday; ‘Shouldn’t you be decorating the sitting room in Ruffin cottage?’ Friday and its Tesco’s, hooray a rest and a chance to check out the best buys with my mates in the wine section. Saturday again, and in come the new guests to the cottages, and this is me with a happy face!
